Panoramic Rhine Cruise & Beautiful Bacharach
No visit to the region would be complete without a boat trip on the Rhine and we have included a panoramic cruise from Boppard to Sankt Goar with views of the famous Loreley Rock. The scenery is simply spectacular and is certainly the very best (and most relaxing) way to enjoy the river. Disembark at Sankt Goar, a quaint little town with a welcoming atmosphere. Your coach will meet you and take you further along the Rhine to picturesque little Bacharach, overlooked by the 12th century fortified castle of Stahleck and the ancient ruins of the Gothic Werner chapel. The best way to get a sense of the village and its surrounds is the take a stroll along the top of the 14th century wall.
Visit pretty Rüdesheim where a local guide will show you around its cobbled streets and quaint, half-timbered houses. Take a stroll along the famous Drosselgasse, the bustling medieval alley full of inviting cafes and wine bars. Perhaps you might like to visit to the famous Asbach Brandy Distillery or try Germany's answer to Irish coffee, a delicious 'Rüdesheimer Kaffee' in a local café. There is a small cable car which takes you up to the Niederwald Monument for lovely views across the valley (approx. €9 return in 2020 - not included).
Boppard Wine Tasting
You will have a day at leisure to relax in one of the Romantic Rhine's prettiest towns, Boppard. Located on the bend in the Rhine, Boppard has a wonderful riverside promenade just waiting to be explored. There is also a 915m chairlift on the edge of town which gently 'floats' above the vineyards for some of the finest views of the Middle Rhine Valley (approx. round trip fare €9 in 2020 - not included). In the afternoon there is an included tasting of several wines with a local wine producer in the town. Stroll back to the hotel at your leisure.
