The spectacular ‘Rhine in Flames’ Festivals, takes place annually in towns and villages along the Rhine Valley. Sensational firework displays light up the sky and flotillas of river boats illuminate the dramatic valley of the Loreley. Day 1 -From interchange head to Dover for the short sea crossig to Calais. Continue via the auto-routes to arrive at your 4* hotel in Lahnstein near Koblenz this evening. Dinner, bed & breakfast.
Day 2 – Just a short drive this morning takes you into Koblenz to enjoy one of Germany’s oldest and most beautiful towns. Surrounded by low mountain ranges, forests and vineyards, Koblenz is well-known for the ‘Deutsches Eck’ (German Corner) where the Rhine and Moselle converge. Return to the hotel this afternoon to relax before your departure to Boppard to board the boat for this evening’s dinner cruise on the Rhine. Enjoy a 3-course dinner with music as you cruise to St Goar for a great view of the Rhine in Flames spectacle. Return to the hotel late.
Day 3 – A leisurely, late start today before heading to Rüdesheim via the legendary Loreley Rock above the narrowest point of the Rhine. Enjoy time at leisure in Rüdesheim, home of the vibrant Drosselgasse, lined with restaurants, bars and shops. You may like to take a trip in the cable car up to the Germania monument for awe-inspiring panoramic views over Rüdesheim's old town and the shimmering waters of the Rhine (fare not included – approx. €8 return in 2017). Return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 4 - After breakfast, travel back to Calais for the return to England.Back to top
