New Year In Holland
Welcome 2021 in Holland and join in the party with this brand new New Year's break. Based just outside The Hague, enjoy some of the more unusual Dutch traditions from eating 'OIiebollen' to diving into the icy North Sea (participation not required!) as well as a good old traditional New Year's Eve celebratory party night with a sparkling toast to see in the New Year! Gelukkig Nieuwjaar!
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
DAY 1 - After joining your holiday coach, you make your way to Dover for the short sea crossing to Calais. Drive through France and Belgium and onto your hotel just outside The Hague for your 3 night stay. Buffet dinner, bed & breakfast
DAY 2 - NEW YEAR'S EVE
Just a short drive from the hotel is the picturesque historic town of Delft. The exquisite town centre is like a time capsule, having changed little since the glory days of the Golden Age. Stroll the narrow, canal-lined streets or maybe visit the Royal Delft potteries, manufacturer of the famous Delft Blue since the 17th century (tour not included - approx. €14). Things start to wind down on New Year's Eve around midday so head off to Rotterdam, funky and edgy and full of crazy, innovative architecture, join an included harbour cruise for a unique view of the shipyards, docks and thousands of containers awaiting shipment from one of the world's largest ports.
Head back to the hotel to get ready for this evening's New Year's Eve Party with a festive buffet dinner and musical entertainment. At midnight raise a glass of bubbly and see in the New Year with an 'Oliebol' - a deep fried bun to ward off evil spirits! Bangers, crackers and a lots of noise generally accompany the stroke of midnight.
DAY 3 - NEW YEAR'S DAY
After a late breakfast, it's off to the coast to blow the cobwebs away at the much-loved North Sea resort of Scheveningen with its very striking pier. The New Year's Dive sees the spectacle of 10,000 brave swimmers plunge into the water together - it's cold, it's bold and it's great to watch from dry land! The tradition dates backs to 1965 and gives the town a real party atmosphere. Head back to the hotel this afternoon for your farewell dinner this evening.
DAY 4 - Travel back through Holland, Belgium and France to Calais for the return to England arriving back early to mid-evening.
