With its crisp winter weather, story book scenery, molten hot chocolate and postcard-perfect Christmas markets, there are few places that carry off festive celebrations quite as well as Belgium. The vibrant city of Ghent is full of charm, history, culture, gastronomy, eclectic art galleries and inviting cafes that spill onto twinkling medieval squares. Throw a French fancy in there, too - get into the festive spirit in the build up to Christmas. The city of Lille really knows how to do Christmas and is the place to do some Christmas shopping! A Ferris Wheel turns on the main square, which is transformed into a winter wonderland, dominated by an 18-meter high Christmas tree. The 83 wooden chalets of the Christmas market offer Christmas decorations and festive food, as well as arts and crafts.

Day 1 Travel to Dover, cross to Calais and continue to Lille.
Day 2 – 3 At leisure in Lille with one included excursion.
A day at leisure in Lille – On Place Rihour (approx. 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel) you will find over 80 wooden chalets teeming with gift ideas, nativity figurines, Christmas decorations and festive food.

Ghent’s cobbled squares, charming waterways and romantic streets bathed in a gorgeous golden lights, sparkling with festive cheer make this a day to remember.
