Easter in Cumbria
3 Star HotelDay 1 – Head to interchange where your holiday begins. A pleasant lunch time stop will be made en route to Cumbria. Arriving mid afternoon for the next 3 nights with breakfast and dinner
Day 2 - Easter Saturday - Enjoy an Ullswater Steamer Cruise (fare included) from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding with some free time at both locations. This lovely lake is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery to its south, softening to the gentle hills of the north. The lake is the second largest in England at seven and a half miles long but is less than a mile across. It is also the third deepest English lake at 250 feet deep. There are dramatic views from both sides of the lake, by foot or by vehicle
Day 3 - Easter Sunday – It's breakfast and then all aboard for a morning drive to Penrith. Penrith in Cumbria’s Eden Valley is known for the massive 14th-century Penrith Castle, set on a grassy meadow. Nearby, the Penrith Museum houses Roman pottery and objects reflecting local history. To the north is Beacon Hill, with its Penrith Beacon monument and panoramic views. Enjoy free time here.
Return to the hotel for a delicious Easter Sunday Lunch and time to relax around the hotel during the afternoon before a 2 Course fork buffet in the evening.
Day 4 – After a hearty breakfast it's all aboard to start the homeward journey. A break for lunch in an interesting spot – time permitting.
