Kynren - An Epic Tale of England & Durham
Join the coach for an included visit to Durham. Durham is home to England's most beautiful Romanesque cathedral, a huge castle, and, surrounding them both, a cobweb of hilly, cobbled streets, a beautiful city with streets packed with history, culture and stunning architecture. Guarded by the River Wear, Durham City with its dramatic skyline never fails to impress. Return to the hotel to enjoy an early meal prior to setting off for the Kynren show (come prepared for the weather conditions). Take time before the show to stroll through the Viking Village where warriors prepare for battle, weavers create textiles and the blacksmith forges authentic chainmail, all in the bustling settlement. Then take your seat as dusk settles over the vast, still lake and the expectant audience of 8,000 falls silent and the epic show begins.........Expect spectacular live action with hand-to-hand combat, daring stunts, incredible pyrotechnics and thrilling horsemanship
NB Instead of the included Durham visit, you may like to spend the day at the brand new Kynren-The Storied Lands, the UK's first live action show park which opened in July 2026. There are five spectacular live shows and immersive experiences - from Viking battles and medieval horsemanship to breathtaking birds in flight and a Victorian maze. Entrance is NOT included and you will need to pre-book tickets (from approx. £30 pp in 2026). Please advise us at time of booking so we can tell which day to book for (once the tour is guaranteed to operate)
