Edinburgh at Christmas time is truly magical! From November onwards, Edinburgh transforms into a winter paradise, complete with Christmas markets, ice skating, festive experiences and much more. The festive markets in the city centre are a popular highlight where you can enjoy delicious food and drink and traditional crafts at the heart of East Princes Street Gardens, the perfect place to pick up unique gifts and goods. Markets stretch out to various locations across the city including West Princes Street Gardens and George Street between Castle Street and Charlotte Square. Indulge in all things Christmas as you shop, sip on spiced mulled wine and get your Christmas shopping off to a fun and festive start!

Your Itinerary

Day 1 After joining your holiday coach, travel north with suitable stops for lunch and refreshments. Arrive in Peebles this evening for your 3 night stay with breakfast & dinner included.

Day 2 - 3 At leisure in Peebles with two included excursions

Peebles & Melrose
All aboard for a short drive to Melrose, best known for its Abbey, which lies on the north east side of the centre of the town. Forming part of this is the excellent Commendator's House Museum, which lays claim to having the largest collection of medieval artefacts on display anywhere in Scotland. No admissions included.  Early afternoon head for free time in Peebles, a pretty town just 5 miles from the hotel, with its picturesque main street set on a ridge between the River Tweed and the Eddleston Water. Peebles is one of the most handsome of the Border towns. 

Edinburgh Christmas Market
Fall under the Yuletide spell at Edinburgh's Christmas Market. Just imagine: fairy lights twinkling in the trees; bustling markets selling all kinds of festive goodies; and warm drinks and delicacies from across Europe. Enjoy panoramic views of the capital from the top of the Big Wheel, or brave a spin on the waltzers. Aside from the festive markets, Edinburgh's city centre is a great place for shopping, whether you're looking for high-tech gadgets from leading department stores or a designer outfit from the boutiques in Multrees Walk 

Day 4 Breakfast and depart heading south with ample comfort stops on the way to interchange. Back to top

Peebles Hydro Hotel, Peebles - 4 Star

Peebles Hydro offers a beautiful setting in gardens, in the border town of Peebles.

This charming, historic hotel features an indoor swimming pool, a spa, a gym and restaurant.

The hotel was originally a centre for hydropathic treatments, as the water in the surrounding area is known for its healthy properties. The building dates from the late 19th century and is surrounded by forest. Each room  features classic décor finished in lightly coloured tones.

All rooms have free Wi-Fi, a TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, heating and a bathroom with free toiletries. there is a lift to all floors, some ground floor rooms and some walk in showers.

You can enjoy lovely views when enjoying breakfast or dinner in the restaurant. There is also a cocktail bar.

Edinburgh is a 45-minute drive from the hotel.
