.Day 1 - Once on board your weekend coach, relax and enjoy the scenery up to Chester. Arrival mid - late afternoon with courtesy stops on the way. Iron Bridge Cruise & Chester
As you cruise south of the city passing some spectacular homes and gardens, enjoy marvellous views of the leafy Cheshire countryside gliding along the River Dee and winding through the Duke of Westminster's Eaton Estate and up to Aldford Iron Bridge. This is a tranquil stretch of the Dee, with many opportunities to spot wildlife including herons, cormorants, and - if you're lucky - a kingfisher or two. There will be a sightseeing commentary playing as you pass places of interest along the riverbanks. A fully stocked bar is available onboard.
Enjoy an afternoon at leisure in Chester. Bewitching beauty and unique atmosphere make Chester one of Britain's most attractive cities. The ancient city is a truly breathtaking experience. Each chapter of Chester's history is etched into its very fabric as you walk where Roman Legionaires marched to war, Viking raiders wreaked havoc and Norman invaders conquered Anglo Saxons. Chester has the most complete city walls, the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus a 1000 year old Cathedral with Europe's finest example of medieval carvings - and of course the one and only 700 year old Rows galleries where shopping is a double delight.
Sail Along the Stream in the Sky - Pontcysyllte Aqueduct & Llangollen
Dip into Wales to board the 'Little Star' at Trevor Basin to cruise across The Stream in the Sky on the 45-minute round trip across the awe-inspiring Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, towering 126 feet high which makes it the highest navigable canal aqueduct in the world. The views across the Dee Vally are spectacular views and the trip is truly an exciting and unforgettable 'bucket-list' experience. The crew provides an onboard commentary - a great way to learn about the fascinating history of the site whilst taking in the magnificent views. There will be some freetime in pretty Llangollen to enjoy its wealth of independent shops or take a stroll along Victoria Promenade or maybe just watch the river tumble down beneath the bridge. Head back to Chester via the stunningly scenic Horse Shoe Pass (A542) (weather permitting) which rises to 1,367ft with simply magnificent views of the valley and mountains surrounding the horse-shaped road.

This stunning 4* hotel, opposite Chester railway station, has an illustrious past having opened in 1860 serve first-class rail passengers. This magnificent brick and stucco Italianate building was said to be the first skyscraper of its time and is just a 10-minute walk from the centre of Chester, where you can visit The Rows and magnificent medieval cathedral.
Public areas have undergone a recent £5 million refurbishment including the V&A Lounge & Bar.
