Christmas at Forest Pines

DAY 1 - After joining your holiday coach relax on your journey north. There will be stops for refreshments on your way. Arrive late afternoon at the 4* Forest Pines Hotel & Spa for your 4-night Christmas stay. Check in, relax and enjoy tea, coffee and mince pies in the lounge whilst your luggage is taken to your room. DBB with a traditional festive lunch served on Christmas Day

DAY 2 - Christmas Eve - This morning head off to festive Lincoln, one of Europe's finest cathedral cities, with a vibrant and contemporary edge, rich in history. Christmas is one of the most magical times to visit Lincoln when the city is aglow with festive lights, the shop windows are adorned with sparkling decorations, and the scent of roasting chestnuts fills the air. The charming Cathedral Quarter (known locally as 'Uphill') is lined with historic architecture and characterful shops, and the cobbled streets could be straight out of a Christmas movie. Follow the twinkling lights into Castle Square and simply soak up the view. Overlooked by the towering Cathedral, there's no better place to experience the sights and sounds of the season. Steep Hill, voted Britain's Great Street, connects 'downhill' and 'uphill' Lincoln. Return to the hotel for a relaxed afternoon with hot drinks and mince pies in the lounge. Enjoy the hotel facilities and if you would like to take advantage of the wide range of spa treatments available (chargeable) during your stay, please book these in advance (once the tour is confirmed). After dinner, be wowed by the tricks and sleight of hand by a magician. Anyone interested in attending a local Midnight Mass service, please enquire at reception regarding timings and taxis. Hot drinks are available in the hotel upon the return from church

DAY 3 - Christmas Day - Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, relax in the lounge (board games available) or make use of the leisure facilities this morning. Meet for a festive welcome drink, followed by a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings and a visit from Santa. Coffee, cake and the King's Speech at 3pm in the lounge. A light buffet lunch is available this evening and there will be a Christmas Quiz later on.

DAY 4 - Boxing Day - Take a scenic drive out this morning through the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape (AONB), a wonderful area of countryside with some of the most beautiful, unspoilt scenery in the East Midlands. There are rolling hills and hidden valleys, woodland and grassland - a living, working landscape and an important habitat for wildlife. Louth, the 'Capital of the Wolds', sits at the foot of the Wolds where they meet the Lincolnshire Marsh. The River Lud meanders through the town and the line of the Greenwich Meridian can be seen on Eastgate. Louth is a lovely Georgian market town but shops, retailers and places to eat and drink may be limited on Boxing Day. Return to the hotel where there will be tea, coffee, mince pies and bingo awaits. There is musical entertainment this evening after dinner

DAY 5 - After breakfast, depart homewards, stopping for refreshments, returning to your hometowns around early to mid-evening
