Known for its medieval setting, Rothenburg is a walled city that has been left largely untouched for hundreds of years. Its unspoilt beauty and winter fairy-tale ambiance fill the city's cobblestone streets, particularly at Advent, when to visit Rothenburg is like stepping into a time warp. Rothenburg's Reiterlesmarkt has its roots back in 15th century with its tradition and heritage still going strong today. To keep body and soul together, why not treat yourself to a glass of Glühwein or enjoy an original Rothenburg Snowball (Schneeball), a local speciality made from strips of sweet dough fried and covered with icing sugar. Entrance is included to the German Christmas Museum.

Day 6. Loaded down with all your Christmas goodies, you travel back to your final overnight stop in the Cologne area with suitable refreshment stops on the way. Bed & breakfast.
