Weymouth & Delightful Dorset

.Day 1 - After joining your holiday coach, head south to your resort hotel stopping for refreshment opportunities. Check in for 5 or 6 nights at 3* Crown Hotel, centrally located in Weymouth. DBB

Day 2 - 5 (or 6) At leisure in Weymouth with two or three included excursions

From your well-located hotel at the top of the town centre, enjoy time at leisure to explore Weymouth. Take a wander around Weymouth's beautiful historic harbour during your stay - it is a great place to while away the hours and watch all the comings and goings...luxury yachts, fishing trawlers, tall ships and RNLI Lifeboats. There are all sorts of shops to be found in Weymouth's town centre from traditional seaside rock to fashion and books, from small independent retailers to well-known high street names. You may like to visit Sandworld, the all-weather attraction which showcases awe-inspiring creations by some of the world's leading sand sculptors (not included - entrance in 2026 approx £12.50 pp). During your stay your driver may be able to offer you an optional boat trip out on Weymouth Bay (weather permitting) passing by Nothe Fort built by the Victorians to protect Portland Harbour

Isle of Purbeck, Swanage & Portland Bill (All tours)
Enjoy a relaxing excursion around the Dorset coastline. Meander through the Isle of Purbeck with views of Corfe Castle on the way to the popular resort of Swanage. This small town surrounds a beautiful, curved bay offering a lovely seaside experience with a difference. Your driver may offer you an optional ride on The Swanage Railway which gives passengers a more intensive heritage steam and diesel timetable train service than virtually any other preserved railway. The day finishes with a visit to Portland Bill, the southernmost point of Dorset and home to a 110+ year old lighthouse.

Sherborne Castle & Gardens (All tours)
Magnificent Sherborne Castle has been a family home since 1617. Built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594, this historic house reflects a glorious variety of decorative styles from over 400 years of English History. Experience nationally important collections of furniture, paintings and porcelain and take a stroll in the Grade I listed English Landscape Garden. An informative guide will bring history alive for you with the great stories as you tour the castle. Afterwards enjoy the magnificent garden, one of Capability Brown's first commission and remains largely unaltered today. NB the castle tour is over 3 floors with 4 sets of stairs. The accessible ground floor does feature the most notable rooms. The gardens and grounds extend over 42 acres with benches located throughout and smooth gravel paths. There is an independent café / restaurant at the garden centre, just a short walk from the visitor car park. Sherborne town is an approx. 15 minute walk away. 

Abbotsbury Swannery & Subtropical Gardens (7-day tours only)
Visit the unique Abbotsbury Swannery, the world's only managed colony of over 600 nesting Mute swans. Spread over 25 acres located on the dramatic Dorset coast, the Swannery was established by Benedictine Monks in 1040 and is now one of Dorset's most popular wildlife sites. The Swannery is fully accessible and there is a café and gift shop on site. There are two main walks to see the swans, which includes information about the Swannery history and the Fleet Lagoon. Abbotsbury is also home to the wonderful Subtropical Gardens with its mixture of formal and informal flowers, charming Victorian Garden and many exotic and unusual flowers. Thanks to the unique microclimate, and hundreds of years of careful curation, the Gardens have a huge variety of areas to discover. From the Jungle Ride to the Sino-Himalayan Glade, the Australasian Garden to the Monocot Border, and the Fernery to the Secret Walk. There is a plant centre and coffee shop on site. NB Much of the garden is fully accessible but there are some gravel paths which may be difficult to negotiate

Return Day - After breakfast, head back homewards via interchange and a suitable en-route stop. Back to top

Well located at the top of Weymouth's town centre, next to the Town Bridge, this friendly, traditional 3* hotel is near the historic fishing harbour and picturesque Brewer's Quay.

Weymouth's beautiful sandy beach is less than 5 minutes' walk from the hotel.

Comfortable guestrooms are simply furnished and feature TV and tea / coffee making facilities.

There is a restaurant and bar as well as a residents' lounge where entertainment takes place on some evenings. There is also a quiet lounge on the first floor.

There is a lift to all floors (some internal steps to some bedrooms)
