Somerset Summer Weekend

Day 1 - Board your holiday coach to head west to Bridgwater and then check into 4* Mercure Hotel Bridgwater in plenty of time to freshen up before dinner. 3 nights DBB (Dinner is buffet style)

Day 2 - 3 - At leisure in Somerset with two included excursions

Burnham-on-Sea or Weston-super-Mare
The choice is yours today with the option for a day by the sea either in Burnham or Weston. Although Burnham-On-Sea pier is Britain's shortest pier, it also has seven miles of golden sands stretching between Burnham & Brean Sands. The pier is still a lovely structure that, unlike a lot of its bigger counterparts, still retains its Edwardian features and elegance. The golden beaches attract tourists from far and wide and there is a mile and a half of flat esplanade from which to enjoy the views out to sea. The town's High Street consists mainly of independent shops and cafes. Stay on the coach if you prefer to continue onto Weston-super-Mare, the great British all-year-round coastal destination on the wide sweep of Weston Bay with a clean sandy beach and level promenade. The town is steeped in Victorian history and you may like to take a stroll down the iconic Grand Pier or meander along the flat promenade with plenty of benches and seats to enjoy the seaviews. The town is blessed with parks close to the seafront including Grove Park and there are cafes, bars and restaurants to suit every taste.

Hestercombe Gardens & Sheppy's House of Cider 
Experience 50 acres of quintessential Somerset gardens near Taunton. Spanning three centuries of garden design, Hestercombe Gardens offer a unique and varied combination of the Georgian Landscape Garden (designed 1750s), the Victorian Shrubbery and the Edwardian Formal Gardens hailed as one of the finest examples of the world-renowned partnership between garden designer Gertrude Jekyll and architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. There are some steps, slopes and uneven paths around the gardens but there is also an all ability access route. As well as formal gardens, woodlands, lakes and temples, you will also find a contemporary art gallery (first floor - no lift), gift shop, plant centre and café. Later head to Sheppy's, a family-run farm that's been lovingly crafting award-winning Somerset ciders for over 200 years. Enjoy a fully tutored tasting of a selection of fine local ciders followed by a delicious West Country cream tea - a true celebration of flavour and tradition!
