Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Travel to Dover for the short ferry crossing to France. Continue along the French autoroutes to your overnight hotel near Dijon. BBDay 2 - After breakfast, continue through France crossing over the Pyrenees and over the border at Perpignan arriving early evening at Calella for your 6-night stay at the excellent 5* Kakus Playa Hotel DBB with wine & water included with dinner each night
Day 3 - 7 - At leisure in Calella with two included excursions and one optional excursion

Barcelona
Travel to the Mediterranean city of Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia. Steeped in history and tradition, culture and the arts flourish in Barcelona and there are many examples of the distinctive style of Gaudi, Spain's most famous architect. The completion of glass cross in 2026 brings Gaudí’s famous church, the Safrada Familia, to a maximum final height of 172.5m, 144 years after work began (entrance not include - approx €26 pp in 2026. You'll find magnificent architecture and excellent shopping in the famous Ramblas. Colourful flower stalls and street entertainers abound, adding to the city's unique character. Blanes & Tossa de Mar
Enjoy a change of scenery on an included excursion along the coast to Blanes known as the Gateway to the Costa Brava - Catalonia's wild coast. Blanes is blessed with 4 kilometres of wide, golden-sanded beaches and 'blue flag' quality seawater. It is a classic, relaxed Catalan seaside resort with a charming and historic old town with narrow cobbled streets and alleyways lined with stately mansions and former fishermen's houses. Onwards to Tossa de Mar, with bags off appeal and the golden good looks of a classic Mediterranean coastal town - fun and friendly, you can chill-out on the beach or sip a Sangria in one of the many cafes and watch the world go by. Tossa de Mar is a delight and is known for its intensely blue coves, golden sandy beaches, its imposing medieval fortress, atmospheric old town ('Vila Vella') and for being a haven for artists in the 20th century. Where history, charm and nature meet!
OPTIONAL EXCURSION
Girona -Tuesday
Northern Catalonia's largest city, Girona is a jewellery box of museums, galleries and Gothic churches, strung around a web of cobbled lanes and medieval walls. Reflections of Modernista mansions shimmer in the Riu Onyar, which separates the walkable historic centre on its eastern bank from the gleaming commercial centre on the west. Pick up a bargain and some Catalonian treats at the fabulous street market (Parc de la Devesa)! Returning to Calella late afternoon.
Day 8 - Retrace your steps through France, stopping for lunch opportunities en-route before continuing to your overnight hotel near Dijon. BB
Day 9 - After breakfast, continue through France back to the Channel port for your return to England. Back to top

5* Kaktus Playa Hotel, Calella
This modern 5* hotel is in an excellent location just a short 2-minute walk from the beach and 5 minutes from the centre. All guestrooms are bright and comfortable with air conditioning, hair dryer, WiFi, private facilities, tea / coffee making facilities and balcony. There are indoor and outdoor pools with pool bar, sun terrace, lounge, spa facilities, lift and 24-hour reception. The Bahari Beach Club is located on Garbí Beach, just 200 metres from the door of the hotel (walk to the promenade, turn left and take the underpass), and has a bar-restaurant area open from morning until dawn, where you can sample typical dishes of regional cuisine, tapas, snacks, cocktails and drinks. A fee applies for the indoor pool, beach sun loungers & umbrellas (please ask hotel reception) as does access to the Kaktus Sky Lounge on the 8th floor. There are two bars and a buffet restaurant.
