Conwy & Llandudno
Head off to the historic town of Conwy with its epic World Heritage-listed castle which dominates the town. The medieval town walls are amongst the most complete in Britain and Thomas Telford's elegant 1826 suspension bridge was one of the first of its kind in the world. Look out for the smallest house in Britain - known as the Quay House, this red painted one up one down measures only 3.05m x 1.83m (10 x 6ft). Conwy Morfa beach is a large sandy bay, with a marina that is well worth a look.
Next stop is ever popular resort of Llandudno, 'The Queen of Welsh Resorts' with its many top quality visitor attractions and stunning scenery. Situated between the Great and Little Orme headlands, this beautiful seafront is perfectly framed. To complement the view there is a wonderful promenade along the Blue Flag beach and the longest pier in Wales (2295 feet, 700 metres). You may like to take a ride on the Great Orme Tramway, Britain's only funicular, or cable-hauled, tramway that travels on public roads, opened in 1902. The Tramway climbs a mile (1500m) through the Great Orme Country Park and Nature Reserve to the Great Orme's spectacular summit. (Fare not included - usually opens at the end of March).
Snowdon Mountain Railway
The Snowdon Mountain Railway, Britain's only rack and pinion railway starts from Llanberis and travel 4.7 miles to the summit of Snowdon, a place of legend 1.085 metres above sea level. PLEASE NOTE that at Easter a diesel service operates up to Clogwyn Station which is 3/4 of the way up the mountain. The summit does not open until May. Clogwyn Station is located on an exposed ridge, overlooking Llanberis Pass and Clogwyn Du'r Arddu cliffs. Nearby lies a group of huge boulders that once tumbled from cliffs above and are rumoured to be the home of a witch named Canthrig Bwt who would try to catch children climbing on the rocks. Return to the hotel for a hearty 3-course Easter Sunday lunch with time at leisure in the afternoon
Day 4 - After a hearty Welsh breakfast, all aboard for the journey back to your home towns. Back to top
