Essential Alsace
DAY 1 - After joining your holiday coach, you will travel to Dover for the short sea crossing to France. Continue via the autoroute network to arrive in the Alsatian town of Mutzig, birthplace of the eponymous beer. Check in to the centrally located 3* L'Ours de Mutzig Hotel with a cold buffet dinner after a late evening arrival. DBBDAY 2 - 4 At leisure in Alsace with three included excursions

Alsace Wine Route
Enjoy the wonderful vineyards and mountain scenery of the legendary Alsace Wine Route today with stops in its prettiest towns and villages. First stop is the village of Gertwiller, Capital of Gingerbread with time for a browse in a traditional gingerbread shop. Then onto one of the region's oldest and most picturesque medieval towns, Ribeauvillé with some of its medieval walls and towers still preserved and beautiful squares adorned with Renaissance style fountains. After some free time for lunch, re-board the coach to visit a local family-owned vineyard to sample some delicious Alsace wines and local Kougelhopf cake and to take a guided cellar tour. Afterwards there is time to explore one more village, charming Riquewihr, the 'Gem of the Alsace Vineyards' and a kind of open-air museum full of character behind its vine covered town walls.
A Day in Strasbourg
Off to the picturesque and historic port city of Strasbourg, the capital of the region and centre of the European Parliament. Make the most of its magnificent setting on the River Rhine, with a circular river cruise on the Rhine tributary, the Ill, from downtown to the European Parliament through the imperial district of Neustadt and the delightful Petite France quarter where fishermen, millers and tanners once lived and worked and where the streets have been built level with the waterways. Commentary in English via headphones. Afterwards, explore the city at your leisure and be sure to see the gigantic Gothic Cathedrale Notre-Dame with its famous astronomical clock.
Colmar & Mont Saint-Odile
Travel to the colourful town of Colmar, the birthplace of Auguste Bartholdi, creator of the Statue of Liberty. With its typical Alsatian half-timbered houses, remarkable religious buildings and picturesque 'Little Venice' quarter, Colmar is a delight. An included ride on the Le Petit Train Blanc (Road Train) takes you around the main sights and highlights. After time for lunch, drive to the spectacular Vosges Mountains and the peak of Mont Saint-Odile for incredible views of the Plain of Alsace and a walk around the historical site of Hohenburg Abbey. Return to the hotel later this afternoon with a scenic drive along the way.
DAY 5 - It's an early start today as bid 'Au Revoir Alsace' and head back to the docks for the return Channel crossing with a suitable stops en-route and the onward journey home. Back to top
