On your free day, perhaps take a leisurely stroll along the impressive beach which stretches over three kilometres. Or enjoy the history and beauty of the town's cultural heart with the impressive 20th century villa of Palazzo del Parco and the neoclassical St Antonio Abate Church with its exquisite marble villas and beautiful frescoes

INCLUDED EXCURSIONS
Alassio
This half day excursion takes you on a scenic drive along the Ligurian coastline to one of its most elegant resorts, Alassio. This has been a preferred choice of destination for travellers since the 18th century, attracted by its 4 kilometres of fine sandy beach which slopes gently into the sea.

Monaco & Monte Carlo - Fully escorted by local guide
Visit legendary Monaco, spectacularly nestled between the mountains and the Med. Vibrant Monte Carlo is the epitome of glamour and extravagance with its pretty Old Town and famous Grimaldi Palace, residence of Prince Albert II. Enjoy a little bit of Monte Carlo magic, just like the world's rich and famous, and soak up the atmosphere, marvel at the mega yachts crammed in the marina and imagine the drama at the F1 racetrack. At just eight square miles, the Principality of Monaco is the smallest and almost certainly wealthiest sovereign-state, with possibly more millionaires than anywhere else on earth. Nicknamed 'The Rock', the tiny capital, Monte Carlo, is built against the mountains, and sprawls down to the glittering shores of the Riviera.

Rapallo & Portofino - Fully escorted by local guide
A full day out today as you head around the Ligurian Coast to colourful Rapallo in the centre of the Bay of Tigullio. Since the 19th century this little town has been a favourite destination of famous writers such as William Butler Yeats and Ernest Hemingway. The Vittorio Veneto promenade is framed by Liberty-style buildings and the narrow streets of the old town are lined with painted clusters of tall, narrow houses, The town's symbol is the Castello sul Mare, a 16th century fortress overlooking the sea. Your local guide will give you a brief orientation of the town and there will be time at leisure for lunch before meeting for the ferry to Portofino. The crossing takes approximately 30 minutes. Splendid Portofino sits in a crescent shaped bay and is an icon of elegance and La Dolce Vita. You will have some time for a stroll, maybe an espresso or gelato or just soak up the atmosphere before the return ferry to Rapallo and your awaiting coach.

DAY 7 - Today it's farewell to Italy as you return northwards to the final stop in France at 3* BW Dijon Quetigny. BB

DAY 8 - After an early breakfast, travel back through France for the return to England.
