INCLUDED EXCURSIONS
Saturday in Ripon with Museum Pass
Discover Ripon, a real Yorkshire gem, steeped in history, with undeniable heritage, tradition, character and community. Located between the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors, Ripon is brimming with things to discover. It offers a great selection of independent shops, high street names, vintage shops, artisan bakeries, high street and independent fashion retailers and an award-winning independent book shop. There is also a small market on a Saturday. The magnificent 7th-century cathedral is located a short stroll from the market square and has been a centre of inspiration and wonder for 1350 years, ever since its consecration by St Wilfrid in 672AD. There are several excellent museums, all located in the city centre and all within a few minutes of each other. A pass is included for you to visit the following museums at leisure during the course of the day.

The Workhouse Museum (10.00 - 16.00)
Enter the gates of Ripon Workhouse and you are in the world of the Victorian poor. See the boiler and bathrooms where new arrivals were thoroughly scrubbed with carbolic soap and de-loused before being put to work.
Prison & Police Museum (10.00 - 16.00)
Pass by the whipping post, pillory and iron collars on the way to the cells where you can explore the story of crime and punishment in the Victorian era.
Courthouse Museum (13.00 - 16.00)
Opened during the reign of King William IV, the Courthouse Museum transports you to an era where the age of criminal responsibility was seven years old.

Scenic Southern Dales Drive - Skipton
Take a drive out on Easter Sunday morning through the scenic Southern Dales defined by the valley of the River Wharfe and its limestone landscapes. Head to Skipton, the charming Dales town with immense history, a rich culture, independent shops, food & drink places galore, an iconic castle, stunning countryside and, perhaps most of all, friendly, fiercely proud and passionate Yorkshire people (Opening hours may vary on Easter Sunday). Time permitting, head to Grassington, a small traditional town on the River Wharfe. It was the fictional market town of Darrowby during the filming of Channel 5's 'All Creatures Great and Small'. Return to the hotel in time for Easter Sunday lunch with time at leisure this afternoon. A light buffet dinner will be available this evening
