Shake off the winter blues with this excellent value Winter Warmer break to Weston-super-Mare, the great British all-year-round coastal destination. Take a stroll down the iconic Grand Pier to blow the cobwebs away or meander along the flat promenade with plenty of benches and seats to enjoy the seaviews. The town is blessed with parks close to the seafront including Grove Park and there are cafes, bars and restaurants to suit every taste. Staying in a seafront hotel, enjoy an included visit to pretty Wells on market day and indulge in a cream tea at the hotel. A smashing weekend seaside break and great value too!

DAY 1 -  After joining your holiday coach, travel to Weston-super-Mare pausing en-route for refreshments. Continue to arrive at the hotel late afternoon to check in for 3 nights with a welcome tea / coffee on arrival and plenty of time to prepare for dinner. DBB

DAY 2 - 3 At leisure in Weston-super-Mare with one included excursion and one optional excursion

If you don't wish to join the optional excursion, then you have a day at leisure to enjoy Weston-super-Mare with a cream tea in the afternoon at the hotel. All weather attractions include the Grand Pier, the Weston Museum and the world's largest dedicated Helicopter Museum (entrances not included). There is a wide and varied programme of entertainment at the Playhouse Theatre and the Winter Gardens.

INCLUDED EXCURSION
Cheddar Gorge & Wells
Journey through the Mendip Hills to drive through the famous Cheddar Gorge, a  truly iconic natural gem, with its dramatic cliffs rising 450 ft.  Cheddar Gorge is not only one of Britain's most spectacular natural landmarks, but also a Site of Special Scientific Interest and part of the newly formed Mendip Hills National Landscape. 
Continue on to the tiny city of Wells. Saturday is market day (09.00 - 14.30) where you will find colourful stalls offering all types of fine foods, fruit and vegetables, clothing, leather goods and more. Be sure to visit the iconic Cathedral with its magnificent West Front and unique features including the beautiful 'scissor arches' supporting the central tower. Adjoining the Cathedral is Vicars' Close, which is thought to be Europe's oldest continuously inhabited street. Why not visit the uniquely moated medieval Bishop's Palace which has been the home of the Bishops of Bath & Wells for over 800 years (admission applies to the ruins of the Great Hall, the Bishop's private chapel and 14 acres of beautiful and tranquil gardens).

OPTIONAL EXCURSION
Scenic Somerset Drive 
After breakfast head off to Glastonbury, on the edge of the unique stretch of countryside known as the Somerset Levels. The land around the town is flat, allowing you to spot the mystical Glastonbury Tor, rising up from sea level behind the town and of course, Glastonbury is well known for its ancient and medieval sites, many rich in myth as well as for its famous music festival. Then it's off to Street and Clark's Village, one of the UK's foremost outlet shopping centres with over 90 outlet shops to choose from offering big discounts on a host of famous brands. Head back to the hotel this afternoon to enjoy your delicious included cream tea.

DAY 4 - After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Marlborough with ample time for sightseeing and refreshments. Later continue homewards to arrive early to mid-evening.

Smiths Hotel, Weston-super-Mare

Situated in a prime sea-front location with magnificent views across Weston Bay and beyond, the 3* Smiths Hotel offers a warm welcome, friendly service and comfortable accommodation.

There is a residents' lounge, restaurant, bar and outdoor terrace and some entertainment.

All 50 bedrooms have been refurbished and offer TV and tea/coffee making fascilities and most come with walk-in shower. There is also a small lift. 

NB: Single rooms are compact.
