Truro - New Year's Eve
Truro is the only city in Cornwall and is a special place in winter when it is lit up with Christmas lights. The high street looks inviting with the 19th-century Cathedral which rises above the centre. The streets are packed with well-known brands as well as independent shops. Take a stroll on the paved piazza at Lemon Quay or through Victoria Gardens. Traces of Truro's wealthy past remain in the smart Georgian townhouses and Victorian villas dotted around the city.
New Year's Day Drive out to Newquay
After a relaxed start to the day, head to one of Cornwall's top destinations, Newquay. Blessed with a fantastic coastline and an array of stunning beaches and tremendous Atlantic rollers, it's the perfect place for a windy walk to blow away the cobwebs on New Year's Day (NB many shops and cafes may be closed on New Year's Day). Head back to the hotel for a relaxed afternoon before dinner with entertainment and party games.
DAY 4 - After breakfast, depart homewards, stopping for refreshments, returning to your home towns around early to mid evening. Back to top
