Every year villages and towns along the Rhine Valley celebrate a series of spectacular 'Rhine in Flames' Festivals. Sensational firework displays light up the sky and flotillas of river boats illuminate the pretty stretches of the River Rhine where thousands of people watch on in awe. Join this fabulous weekend break based in the heart of popular Rüdesheim and experience the 'Rhine in Flames' extravaganza at Oberwesel from the deck of a river cruise boat complete with dinner and DJ on board.

Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Continue via the auto-routes to arrive at your 3* hotel in charming Rüdesheim late this evening. Due to a late arrival this evening, a light snack will be waiting in your room after check in.
Day 2 - Enjoy a free day in lovely Rüdesheim, home of the vibrant Drosselgasse, lined with restaurants, bars and shops. You may like to take a trip in the cable car up to the Germania monument for awe-inspiring panoramic views over Rüdesheim's old town and the shimmering waters of the Rhine (fare not included - approx. €10 return in 2023). Later on, it is just a 3-minute walk to board your boat from Pier Number 8 for an evening afloat which culminates in the spectacular firework display at Oberwesel - 'The Rhine in Flames'. The boat departs at approx.18.15 and will join the flotilla cruising the majestic Rhine. Enjoy a 2-course set dinner with welcome sparkling wine and DJ as you cruise to Oberwesel. The boat returns to Rüdesheim after midnight. (Timings subject to final confirmation)
Day 3 - Head further east along the Rhine today for an included visit to the fashionable city of Wiesbaden, capital of the State of Hesse. One of the oldest spa towns in Europe, Wiesbaden still has its hot mineral springs which attracted movers and shakers since the days of the Romans. It is an ultra-sophisticated city with magnificent neoclassical buildings, beautiful expanses of parkland, elegant shops, ornate villas and tree-lined avenues. The historic 'Kurhaus' (spa house) is Wiesbaden's landmark and is the located in the beautiful 'Kurpark, a wonderful place to stroll and enjoy the flowers, water features and sculptures. Wiesbaden is a town for wandering, relaxing and enjoying!
Day 4 - Due to the early start today, you will receive a packed breakfast on departure as you travel back to Calais for the return to England.

Central Hotel, Rüdesheim
This friendly 3* family run hotel is situated in the heart of the historic district of Rüdesheim with the famous Drosselgasse close by.
There are 40 comfortable, modern rooms all with safe, TV and hairdryer and there is free Wi-Fi in public areas.
The popular restaurant, 'Stieblers' serves regional cuisine and there is an outdoor terrace in the summer. A lift (with 8 steps access) serves some rooms.
Please note - porterage service in NOT available at this hotel
