2023 Luxury Scottish Winter
Banish those winter blues with this brand new ‘all inclusive’ Scottish twin centre breakaway. The roads are quieter, there are fewer visitors and as long as you pack a warm jumper, coat and hat you can really make the most of some (hopefully!) clear, crisp days. Enjoy a warm Celtic welcome at the popular Winnock Hotel situated on the village green in the pretty village of Drymen before heading via the Cairngorms to the lovely city of Inverness sitting astride the River Ness at the northern end of the Great Glen. Then it’s back through the Trossachs via Loch Ness and Fort William for two more nights in Drymen. This excellent ‘all inclusive’ indulgent break is sure be a Highland hit!

Luxury Scottish Winter - All Inclusive
Day 1 From your chosen joining point your feeder vehicle will take you to the designated interchange point where your holiday begins. After joining your holiday coach, travel north with suitable stops for lunch and refreshments. Arrive in Drymen this evening ready for your first evening meal. DBB
Day 2 After breakfast, travel north to the picture postcard town of Pitlochry, a favourite haunt of Queen Victoria, nestled amongst the stunning scenery of Highland Perthshire. Then it’s on through the magnificent Cairngorms National Park which is twice the size of the Lake District and home to mountains, forest paths, rivers and lochs, to arrive at the impressive Inverness Palace Hotel & Spa for your 3-night stay. A welcome cocktail reception this evening is followed by dinner. DBB
Day 3 – 4 At leisure in Inverness with one included excursion. Full board‘All Inclusive’ package includes

Day at leisure in Inverness
The hotel is located just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre where you will have a free day to explore. Here you will find the Victorian market with its unique range of shops, the famous Leaky’s bookshop (Scotland’s largest second-hand bookshop) as well as Inverness Botanic Gardens, a sub-tropical oasis with greenhouses, cactus house and a pool full of friendly Koi Carp. The city offers plenty of attractions including its castle, cathedral, museum and art gallery (entrances not included)
Culloden Moor & Elgin
Discover the story of the last pitched battle to be fought on British soil under the command of Bonnie Prince Charlie - the Jacobite Uprising of 1745, culminating in the Battle of Culloden which marked the end of an era for Scotland. Start by visiting Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre (entrance included), you will get an insight into the magnificent story of the young pretender and the Jacobites. Continue to Elgin, the provincial capital of Moray with its impressive ruined cathedral (entrance not included). Time at Johnstons of Elgin, producers of fine woollen and cashmere clothing since 1797 for a brief tour of the mill and a spot of shopping.
Day 5 Bid farewell to Inverness as you head back south with a stop at the Loch Ness Exhibition in Drumnadrochit - a state-of-the-art display about the geological formation of Loch Ness and the legendary monster. Enjoy the vista of Loch Ness in all its natural wonder as you head along its shores (keeping a lookout for Nessie!) towards Fort William which sits beneath mighty Ben Nevis. Enjoy some free time in Fort William before continuing on through the Trossachs National Park to Drymen for your final 2-night stay. Full board

Day 6 Following breakfast enjoy an included day out in the truly delightful capital, Edinburgh, with its atmospheric cobbled streets of the old town to the attractive Georgian avenues of the new town. There is plenty to see and do - from iconic Edinburgh Castle at the top of the Royal Mile to the impressive National Museum of Scotland (entrances not included)
Day 7 After a leisurely breakfast, head back through Northern England, with ample stops for coffee and refreshments. Continue back to the local joining points via the fast motorway network arriving back mid/late evening.Back to top
WINNOCK HOTEL, DRYMEN (1 + 2 nights)
Situated on the pretty village green in the conservation village of Drymen, the family-run 3* Winnock Hotel is situated just 4 miles from Loch Lomond. It offers excellent customer service, cosy log fires and hearty Scottish cuisine. There is a traditional bar area with an extensive range of speciality malt whiskies. All 74 en-suite bedrooms come with TV, hairdryer and drinks facilities. There is no lift but ground floor rooms are available. (NB Dinner is served in the Capercaille Room on tables of 8)

The popular 4* Palace Hotel is set in a 19th century Victorian mansion overlooking the River Ness just a few minutes’ walk from Inverness Castle and Cathedral. There is a relaxed brasserie restaurant and bar as well as extensive spa facilities with a 50ft indoor pool, sauna, steam room and fitness suite. All guestrooms offer flat screen TV, hairdryer and tea / coffee making facilities. There are guestrooms in the main house as well as a separate building (10 at the Palace – no lift). Free WiFi is available throughout. There is a lift to all floors in the main hotel building.
