INCLUDED EXCURSIONS:

'BRIGHT PROSPECTS' AT BUGA MANNHEIM 2023
Drive to Mannheim for a full day to explore the monumental floral displays, great gardening prowess and innovative horticultural skills at the 2023 Bundesgartenschau. The show is located in the grounds of Spinelli Park, a former US military base, and extends into Luisenpark. One of major highlights will be a 2 km long overhead cable car system spanning the river Neckar which connects the two sites. This isn't just any flower show but is the national flower and garden show for the entire country and is one of the largest garden shows in the world where you can expect floral delights, recreation areas, a fresh air corridor, a species conservation area and cultural events.

ROMANTIC HEIDELBERG
Heidelberg attracts visitors from all over the world and with its fabulous baroque old town, beautiful riverside setting, red sandstone buildings and rich literary heritage, it is easy to see why. A guided walking tour will show you the many different faces of Heidelberg and well as the majestic 'half-ruined' hill top castle (entrance and return ride on the funicular railway included). The views from here across the town and the River Neckar are simply stunning.

HISTORIC SPEYER
In the words of Goethe, 'Make your Way to Speyer', a delightful town on the Rhine, scarcely damaged in WWII, with a compact centre easy to explore on foot. Speyer's crowning glory is the magnificent landmark 11th century Kaiserdom cathedral, the largest Romanesque structure in Germany and the greatest building of the medieval German empire. Discover the charming streets and long history of the town with a guided walking tour with a local English-speaking guide

DAY 5 - An early start today as you travel back to France and Calais for the return crossing to England. Back to top
