DAY 2 - 4 At leisure in Ilkley with two included excursions.
Enjoy a free day in Ilkley, a great little place to relax and treat yourself. There are excellent restaurants and independent shops selling everything from gifts to vintage clothes and books. Maybe enjoy afternoon tea at the famous Bettys Cafe and Tea Rooms or take a stroll in Riverside Gardens, alongside the River Wharfe, a lovely park in which to spend some time. INCLUDED EXCURSIONS
Pennine Explorer - Rail & Sail
Off to Embsay today for a ride back in time behind a vintage locomotive. Settle back in beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages and enjoy a unique view of some of Yorkshire's finest countryside on a round trip via Bolton Abbey. Then it's off to Skipton - a town with immense history, a rich culture, independent shops, food & drink places galore, a famous market, an iconic castle, stunning countryside and, perhaps most of all, friendly, fiercely proud and passionate Yorkshire people. Enjoy an included trip aboard a narrow boat on the Leeds to Liverpool Canal to gain an insight into the town's central role in the busy waterways of the industrial revolution.

Shibden Hall & Halifax
An included visit takes you to the distinctive half-timbered Shibden Hall, home of the Lister family for over 300 years and notably of the 19th century diarist, landowner and businesswoman, Anne Lister. Her remarkable life was dramatised in the recent BBC series, 'Gentleman Jack' starring Suranne Jones and Shibden Hall was one of the main filming locations of the show. Continue into Halifax, once the heart of England's woollen industry and home to some of the region's best-preserved Victorian and Georgian landmarks. It is well worth taking time out to get to know this charming Yorkshire market town with its inimitable character and historical vitality. Be sure to pop into the handsome 15th Century Minster (where Anne Lister is buried) to enjoy the beautiful interiors complete with painted wooden ceiling panels. Star of the show must surely be the magnificent Piece Hall. A unique Grade I listed Georgian masterpiece, it is the oldest remaining cloth hall in Britain. Following a multi-million pound transformation project, it is now a world class cultural and leisure destination with its grand open-air courtyard surrounded by a mix of independent galleries, shops, cafes and restaurants. Delve deeper into its captivating past with a local heritage guide who will lead you through the grand colonnades and regale you with tales of its fascinating 250-year history.

DAY 5 After breakfast, bid farewell to Yorkshire as you head south to interchange and onward to your home towns
