Delicate snowdrops are one of the first signs of life after the long winter months and a most welcome sign that Spring will soon be on its way. Since the creation of the Winter Garden at Dunham Massey in 2009, over 200,000 double and single snowdrops have been planted in the woodland area which gives the effect of a shimmering carpet of white from late December through to February. Enjoy the Snowdrops in all their beauty on this great little weekend break which takes in medieval Chester as well as a stop to the impressive Trafford Centre, a shopper's delight.

Your Itinerary

Day 1 - From your chosen joining point your feeder vehicle will take you to your designated interchange point where your holiday begins. After joining your holiday coach, sit back and relax as your journey takes you northwards. A suitable refreshment stop will be made en-route at a garden centre or similar before arriving at your hotel for the weekend, Novotel Manchester West. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 2 - 3 At leisure with two included excursions.

Snowdrops at Dunham Massey
At 7 acres, the Winter Garden at Dunham Massey near Altrincham is the largest of its kind in the UK. Designed with the help of plantsman Roy Lancaster OBE, the garden is home to over 1600 winter shrubs, trees and evergreens chosen for their scent, colour and texture. Lose yourself in the delightful carpet of exquisite snowdrops. 300 years of history have unfolded at Dunham Massey, the home to two great families, the Booths and the Greys. Their stories of fortune, scandal and duty can still be felt across the estate today. Head back to the hotel later today with a stop en-route at the epic Trafford Centre with over 140 stores from A-Z, Apple to Zara as well as numerous places to eat.

Medieval Chester
Enjoy a day at leisure in the beautiful city of Chester, home to the unique 13th century Rows, the continuous half-timbered galleries, reached by steps, which form a second row of shops above those at street level along Watergate Street, Northgate Street, Eastgate Street and Bridge Street. Chester also boasts the original city walls, a complete circuit of walls (sections of which date back to Roman times) that encircle its picturesque Tudor and Victorian heart and Norman Cathedral.

Day 4 Head back home today after breakfast
