Itinerary

Day 1 Travel northbound to your hotel in Grange-over-Sands with comfort stops on the way. 4 nights with dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 2-4 At leisure with two included excursions.

INCLUDED EXCURSIONS
Keswick & Ullswater Steamer
Through the heart of the Lake District to the tourist town of Keswick, under the shadow of Skiddaw. Continuing onto England's most beautiful lake, Ullswater. Cruise on the steamer from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding.

Leven Valley Steam Train, Lake Windermere Cruise & Lakeland Motor Museum
Free time in Bowness on Windermere before a cruise on England's largest lake to Lakeside. Continue with a steam train journey on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. A short walk to the Lakeland Motor Museum. Explore their fascinating collection of over 30,000 exhibits in a converted mill, trace the development of road transport throughout the twentieth century - cycles, motorbikes, motor cars and automobilia. Return on the train to Lakeside where your coach awaits.

OPTIONAL EXCURSION

Kendal & The Oldest Topiary Gardens at Levens Hall - May July & August tours only

The town's most famous export must be Kendal Mint Cake. Joseph Wiper came up with the original recipe for the Everest conquering energy bars. A wealth of historic buildings, shopping arcades and 2 castles are sure to occupy your time here.

 Also today, a visit to Levans Hall

Stroll along the path in front of Levens Hall and you will find a small wooden gate leading into the Gardens. What awaits you, hidden behind the high stone wall, remains largely unchanged since the 17th century and is truly spectacular. Dating back to the 1690s, the ten acres of Gardens retain many original features including the world's oldest topiary gardens. This surreal and unique collection of ancient box and yew trees, in abstract or geometric shape, rises up from a beautiful display of underplanting, populated with an ever-changing array of over 30,000 bedding plants, all grown in the greenhouses onsite

Optional Excursion for our October tour will be a visit to Kendal.



Day 5 - After breakfast, say farewell and return homewards, arriving back at your local joining points early to mid-evening.
