Escape from it all on this brand new Scottish adventure which combines the unspoilt wilderness of the dramatic Highlands with the peaceful beauty of the Hebridean Isles as you enjoy scenic Scotland's stunning scenery of velvet moors, jagged mountains, sparkling lochs and towering sea cliffs. Arriving on the Hebrides is quite literally a breath of fresh air as you explore breath-taking coasts and countryside, fascinating history and unique island cultures.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Day 1 – To Gretna - From your chosen joining point your feeder vehicle will take you to the designated interchange point where your holiday begins. After joining your holiday coach, travel north with suitable stops for lunch and refreshments. Arrive at your overnight hotel, Gretna Hall Hotel in famous Gretna Green, in good time to freshen up for your evening meal. DBB
Day 2 – Borders to the Highlands - After breakfast, travel north through the stunning scenery of the Scottish borders and onto the bonnie, bonnie banks of lovely Loch Lomond. Then it's through the Trossachs National Park through Highland Glens passed tranquil lochs shadowed by rugged mountains for your next overnight stay in Fort William. 3* Alexandra Hotel (May) or 3* Ben Nevis Hotel & Leisure Club (September). Day 3 – Highlands & Lewis – Travel further north through panoramic Highland scenery and then along the shores of Loch Ness and onto the picturesque fishing town of Ullapool, nestled on the shores of Loch Broom. There will be some time to explore Ullapool before boarding the afternoon ferry to arrive this evening in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis for a late dinner.
In Stornoway will find a host of traditional pubs and a harbour with a couple of resident seals. Check in for two nights in the centrally located 4* Cabarfeidh Hotel. DBB
Day 4 – Exploring the Isle of Lewis – Lewis is the largest of the Western Isles but remains refreshingly unspoilt and uncrowded. It is home to some of the most important seabird colonies in the UK as well as some intriguing heritage and archaeological sites. During the included tour of Lewis (may operate with a local coach and driver) you will visit the mystic Callanish Standing Stones, one of the best-preserved megalithic site in the whole of Scotland. Continue onto the ancient Iron Age fortification of Carloway Broch and the Gearrannan Blackhouse Village, where you experience the way of life of a typical 19th century crofting community. Return to Stornoway mid-afternoon. DBB
Day 5 – Skye & Highlands – Depart Stornoway early this morning to head south to Harris passing some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the UK. Take the late morning ferry to Uig on the Isle of Skye, stopping in the island’s capital, Portree. Cross the magnificent Skye road bridge to the Kyle of Lochalsh and the most recognisable castle in Scotland, Eilean Donnan. Pick up one of the most spectacular parts of the ‘North Coast 500’ route along the shores of Loch Maree to Gairloch with its beautiful sandy beaches and remarkable views to the Western Isles.

Day 6 – West Highlands North Coast 500& Inverewe Gardens – Head today to Poolewe, home of the Inverewe Gardens (entrance included) where rare species thrive as a side effect of the Gulf Stream meeting the Highlands. As you meander through the garden on this remote stretch of coastline, enjoy a paradise of unusual and wonderful plants, where the unexpected greets you at every corner. A scenic drive later continues a little way along the coastal NC500 route north to Laide and Dundonnell before heading back to Gairloch. DBB
Day 7 – Cairngorms to Hadrian’s Wall – Head south today passing by Inverness and the magnificent Cairngorms National Park which is twice the size of the Lake District and home to more mountains, forest paths, rivers, lochs and distilleries than imaginable. Continue via Pitlochry, with its timeless Victorian ambiance, to Carlisle in the Lake District for a final overnight at the 3* Cumbria Park Hotel (May) or 3* Carlisle Station Sure Hotel by Best Western (September). Day 8 – Homeward bound - After breakfast, head back through Northern England, with ample stops for coffee and refreshments. Continue back to the local joining points via the fast motorway network arriving back mid/late evening.
NB sites visited on this tour may have uneven surfaces and good walking shoes are recommended. Warm clothing is also recommended as winds can be high even in the summer.Back to top

This modern 4* hotel is located on the edge of Stornoway town, set in its own attractive gardens just across the road from the golf course. There is a light and airy restaurant specialising in local produce. The 46 comfortable bedrooms include free WiFi, TV and tea / coffee making facilities. There is a lift to all floors.

This lovely 3* hotel overlooks Gairloch Bay with its quiet, secluded beaches. With panoramic views stretching as far as the famous Isle of Skye, the Gairloch Hotel offers a spectacular window to Wester Ross and the Northwest Highlands. Traditional Scottish hospitality lies at the heart of the hotel and the 70 bedrooms all come with hairdryer, TV and tea / coffee making facilities as standard. There is a restaurant and lounge bar. There is a lift to all floors although some rooms do have a few steps.
