Day 2: Our excursion today will take us to Antwerp, the capital of Flanders. This diamond of a city is one of the region’s most intriguing locations. Gothic in nature, you can admire the Cathedral of Our Lady dominating Antwerp’s skyline and the Het Vleeshuis, formerly a guild hall and meat market but now a museum dedicated to Antwerp’s rich musical history. Visitors are surprised at how intimate and attractive the intriguing medieval heart of Antwerp is, appearing as it did many centuries ago and remaining almost unchanged, with numerous cobblestone lanes.
Day 3: We spend the day in the pretty town of Zundert where you will enjoy the huge annual flower parade. See colourful floats, with handmade creations sculpted from blooms of dahlias. In order to prepare the floats for the big parade, hundreds of people join together, the art of building the Zundert Parade floats has been passed down from generation to generation. Absorb the carnival atmosphere that this unique flower parade creates.
Day 4: After breakfast we begin our journey home, making a lunch stop in Bruges.
