Day 1: We travel to Studley Castle in the pretty Warwickshire countryside, arriving in time to relax before dinner.
Day 2: Today we make the short journey to the delightful town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Steeped in more than 800 years of history, this charming market town is home to an array of fascinating attractions. Visit Shakespeare’s birthplace where you can walk in the famous playwright’s footsteps, exploring his childhood home and hearing tales of his family life. Alternatively, perhaps visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, a beautiful 500-year-old Tudor cottage where Shakespeare courted his bride-to-be. You will find quaint side streets with unique and individual shops, to open parklands along the river; there is something for everyone in this beautiful town.
Day 3: After a delicious breakfast, we travel to Warwick a charming town with ancient churches, fascinating museums and a wealth of quality independent shops, restaurants and cafes nestled amongst stunning historic buildings. Perhaps visit the majestic Warwick Castle with more than 1,000 years of unbelievable history within its ancient walls. The castle’s attractions include a maze, a Time Tower and the Mighty Trebuchet – the largest working siege machine in the world; Behind the castle’s mighty walls, you will find the real heart of the castle, its beautiful grand interiors. Whether you explore its staterooms or gaze upon the River Avon from its ramparts, Warwick Castle will immerse you in a rich tapestry of the past.
Day 4: Enjoy a day to unwind and relax at Studley Castle. Whether you wish to take a stroll through the pretty gardens and grounds, join in with some of the leisure activities or take a dip in the pool, today is yours to spend at leisure.
Day 5: After breakfast, we will depart Studley Castle and make our way home.
