Built in the mid-1500s, this beautiful Grade I listed Tudor manor has a truly unique story with history literally on your doorstep; the stunning location has played host to occupying Romans, a Tudor tryst and even a Civil War army. The grounds contain an ornate Roman mosaic floor and settlement remains. Henry VIII courted Jane Seymour here, and the D-Day landings were planned within the house. England’s last remaining Cromwellian Chapel in a private house is also here, and the property offers many more historical jewels for you to explore at your leisure.

Itinerary
Itinerary
Day 1: We travel to Berkshire arriving in plenty of time to relax before dinner.
Day 2: This morning our excursion takes us to the fascinating university city of Oxford, home to honey-coloured colleges and its many famous spires, giving it the affectionate nickname ‘City of Dreaming Spires’. With its mix of ancient and modern, Oxford has so much to offer. Whether you chose to explore one of the many historic buildings, colleges or museums, visit one of the many restaurants or cafes or shop till you drop, Oxford has it all!
Day 3: Today we make a morning visit to Marlborough – Wiltshire’s most vibrant market town. Wednesday is market day so the High Street will be full of market stalls selling all sorts of wares from locally produced meat and vegetables to pots, plants, pashminas and pottery. Occasionally a number of continental markets will also descend on the town. With arcades, alleyways, coaching inns, half-timbered cottages and a church at each end of the High Street, Marlborough still retains much of its original rustic charm.
Day 4: Today is a day to relax and unwind and enjoy all the activities on offer.
Day 5: After breakfast, we will depart Littlecote House and make our way home.
