Tall Ships in Hartlepool

Hartlepool has the huge honour of hosting the world-famous Tall Ships’ Raice again in the summer of 2023. It comes after visitors from far and wide flocked to the Borough when the vessels last visited in 2010. Hartlepool Waterfront and its associated facilities are second to none and proved during 2010 that they were capable of hosting this enormously popular event.

Plan My Trip

Day 1: Today we travel northwards to our hotel in Newcastle arriving in time for dinner.

Day 2: This morning we travel to Hartlepool for the highlight of our tour, The Tall Ships Hartlepool 2023. This maritime celebration will take place at Hartlepool Marina encouraging residents and tourists alike to indulge in the North East’s rich seafaring history. The platoon of old-style boats will gather at Jackson’s Dock and members of the public will be invited to enjoy mock gun battles, trips out to sea and tours around the ships. Other fun activities like street theatre, live music, outdoor markets, as well as a whole host of education opportunities, will also form part of the festival.

Day 3: Our excursion today takes us to the fascinating City of Durham. Bill Bryson called it ‘a perfect little city’, The Independent named it as one of the best cities in the world to visit in 2020, and Condé Nast’s Traveller magazine readers voted it the ‘Best city in the UK’. A captivating city with winding cobbled streets and a prominent peninsula crowned with the dramatic Durham Cathedral and Castle World Heritage Site.  Explore the timeless quality of this quintessential old English University City, take some time out with a relaxing riverside walk or river cruise, or soak up the atmosphere with superb cafés, artisan workshops, boutiques, galleries and museums.

Day 4: After breakfast this morning, we must begin our journey home.
