Scotney Castle & Spa Valley Railway | Crosskeys Day Trips
We begin our day with a visit to Scotney Castle nestled in the Bewl Valley. The romantic ruined medieval castle is set on its own moated island and forms the centrepiece of Edward Hussey’s picturesque garden with over 770 acres to explore which come to life in spring with daffodils, rhododendrons, azaleas and magnolias. Our visit includes entrance to the Victorian country mansion with one of the largest and most eclectic collections held by the National Trust.
In the afternoon we head to Spa Valley Railway for our return journey from Tunbridge Wells on a heritage steam train. It’s time to sit back and relax as we journey through the picturesque Kent and East Sussex countryside blooming with magnificent spring colours.
