Crosskeys Coach Holidays
Cornwall is a land steeped in myths and legends, where almost every town or village has its own piece of folklore to tell. The most famous legend is that of King Arthur, who is believed to have been born at Tintagel Castle on the north Cornish coast. This beautiful corner of England has been used as the backdrop to the popular BBC TV series Poldark and is the location for our fascinating tour.

Day 1: We travel to Cornwall and our Hotel in Falmouth arriving in time for dinner.
Day 2: We begin our day with a guided walking tour of Truro, the only city in Cornwall. Truro’s most striking feature is the Cathedral, with its green spire and gothic appearance. Entry to the Cathedral is included in our tour. After our visit to Truro we will enjoy a cruise with commentary along the River Fal to Trelissick Garden. Trelissick is set on its own peninsula, with panoramic views over the Fal estuary. You can spend time exploring the garden with its exotic plants and herbaceous borders. The house has a friendly and inviting atmosphere with a rolling programme of exhibitions that reveal stories from its diverse history.
Day 3: Today we enjoy a full day guided tour the North Cornish Coast. We visit ‘Bedruthan Steps’ the granite rocks that are dotted across the beach, according to legend they are stepping stones for the Giant Bedruthan. You can view the steps on a 30 minute coastal walk followed by a leisurely stop in nearby Padstow. We continue our day with a scenic drive through Bodmin Moor where we will visit Bodmin Jail and enjoy lunch at Cornwall’s most famous smugglers inn. We will continue to the iconic Minions, standing stones where many of the horse riding scenes from Poldark were filmed.
Day 4: After breakfast we begin our tour of South Cornwall. We will visit the Poldark Mine an industrial Heritage Museum and Tin Mine, we will then discover Porthcurno, described by some as being a paradise and where many beach scenes have been shot. We will continue onto the Minack Theatre, Cornwall’s world famous open-air theatre, carved into the granite cliff and set in glorious gardens overlooking Porthcurno Bay; here we will enjoy homemade scones and Cornish clotted cream. We will finish our day with a scenic drive along the Lizard Peninsula with location stops along the coves.
Day 5: Sadly we must say goodbye to the beautiful county of Cornwall and begin our journey home.Back to top
