The Gardens consist of seven acres of Pleasure Grounds, laid out in the 18th century, with a lake, a brick and turf maze and many specimen trees. The four-acre Walled Garden contains wide herbaceous borders, a rose garden, a cut flower garden, a 1920s Wendy House and a splendid Greenhouse also from the
1920’s with a fine display of pelargoniums and other tender plants.
The house is a traditional stone Elizabethan mansion built in 1557 complete with a Great Hall and spectacular Long Gallery, with many Tudor and Stuart portraits. The house is filled with a sensitively chosen collection of furniture, paintings, books, textiles and clocks.
To mark the end of the season the House will be filled with additional floral arrangements in all of the rooms for everyone to admire and enjoy. All of the flowers will be taken from the annual cut flower beds in the Garden and arranged in the distinctive ‘Parham style’. The tradition started in the 1940s and is still followed by the Parham Flower Team today.
NB: Wheelchair users are able to access the ground floor rooms of the House however there is no wheelchair access to the first and second floors. The house has wide staircases which are fitted with handrails. Some of the paths in the Gardens are uneven in places.
Parham is a cashless business and all purchases on site need to be paid by credit or debit card.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
