Itinerary

Itinerary

Day 1: We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2: Today we enjoy a lovely drive via Colwyn Bay to the “queen of Welsh resorts”, Llandudno where we will enjoy a ride to the top of the Great Orme on the beautifully restored tram which climbs 1500m, to the summit with outstanding views of Anglesey and the peaks of Snowdonia. There will also be plenty of time to enjoy Llandudno’s beautiful Victorian architecture, Edwardian elegance, pier shops and attractions.

Day 3: At 3,650ft Mount Snowdon is the highest mountain in England and Wales. We take a return ride on the Snowdon Mountain Railway for a journey to the “rooftop of Wales” and, weather permitting, we will have spectacular views. The Visitor Centre has a gift shop and café and there will be plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and views before we make our descent down. This afternoon we take a ride on the Llanberis Lake Railway, a narrow gauge railway which follows the shores of the lake.

Day 4: After breakfast we travel through the spectacular scenery of the Snowdonia National Park as we make our way to the seaside town of Porthmadog, via the pretty village of Beddgelert, to board a train on the Ffestiniog Railway. Sit back and relax as we enjoy the 13.5 mile journey with dramatic views of mountains, lakes and waterfalls around every corner. The track climbs 700ft from sea level as we journey towards the slate quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. From here we travel by coach to the pretty village of Betws-y-Coed where we make a stop before continuing back to our hotel.

Day 5:  Today we must say goodbye and begin our journey home.
