Day 1: We arrive at Redworth Hall Hotel, a stunning Jacobean Manor House, in time for dinner.

Day 2: Our excursion this morning takes us to the charming market town of Barnard Castle. Renowned for its historic castle, vibrant arts scene and scenic location on the banks of the River Tees, its picturesque setting offers the perfect mix of heritage and natural beauty. Whether you’re exploring the iconic fortress, discovering treasures at The Bowes Museum, or taking a gentle riverside stroll, there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy. This afternoon, we return to our hotel for some rest and relaxation. Perhaps take a swim in the indoor pool or visit the hotel’s spa, switch off from it all with a good book or have a little snooze.  After an early dinner this evening, it’s time to experience the highlight of our tour.  Kynren – An Epic Tale of England is the multi award winning and spectacular 90-minute live-action show that begins at sunset and ends in starlight. A spell-binding journey celebrating 2,000 years of British History set against the stunning backdrop of Bishop Auckland in County Durham. With thrilling choreography, breathtaking stunts and mesmerising pyrotechnics the cast of over 1,000 dramatically transports you through England’s rich history from Roman Occupation through to World War II.

Day 3: This morning you can choose to join an optional excursion to Kynren – The Storied Lands.  This impressive new attraction takes you into a world where legends come to life. Discover five spectacular live shows and immersive experiences in one day out – from Viking battles and medieval horsemanship to breathtaking birds in flight and a Victorian maze. Please note this full day excursion is subject to minimum numbers and is at an additional cost of £35 per person.  Alternatively, we visit  the ancient, historic city of Durham. Renowned as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Durham offers a stunning skyline dominated by its monumental Norman Cathedral and Durham Castle, both perched dramatically atop a high peninsula carved by the River Wear. There is time to explore the city with its labyrinth of little streets and alleyways, browse the stalls at the infamous indoor market; housed in a magnificent Victorian Hall, or maybe take a peaceful stroll along the wooded riverbanks for picture postcard views of the city.

Day 4: Today starts with a visit to Mount Grace Priory, the remains of a 14th century Carthusian monastery and gardens enfolded in North Yorkshire woodlands. Wander the priory ruins to view the church tower, great cloister and a reconstructed monk’s cell and gain a fascinating insight into the monks who lived here in solitude and silence. There will also be time to roam the 13 acres of glorious gardens with its seasonal spectacle of colour, peaceful meadows and orchards. This afternoon we embark on a leisurely 3-hour circular cruise along the picturesque River Tees. Sit back and relax as we take in the tranquil scenery and abundant wildlife.

Day 5: After breakfast, we make our way home.
