Itinerary

Itinerary

Day 1: We make our way to Wales for our overnight stay in Llanberis.

Day 2: This morning we travel to Holyhead for our ferry crossing to Dublin. After arriving on Irish shores, we continue our journey to Killarney in time to freshen up before dinner.

Day 3:  A visit to Killarney would not be complete without a trip on a traditional horse-drawn jaunting car. Departing directly from the hotel, your carriage awaits as you are transported back in time on a jaunting car ride through Killarney National Park. Learning about the history, folklore and beauty of this delightful area from our driver ‘The Jarvey’, we will travel to the magnificent 15th Century Ross Castle on the shores of Loch Leane.  After our relaxing ride through the idyllic countryside we will enjoy a delightful lake cruise through scenes of gentle lowlands and scattered islands in the shadow of the towering, rugged MacGillicuddy Reeks Mountains. Your experienced skipper will give a full commentary on the flora, fauna and historical heritage of the area.  This afternoon is free to explore Killarney at leisure.

Day 4: Today we experience a stunning scenic drive around the majestic and unspoilt Ring of Kerry, one of the most spectacular driving routes in Ireland. The journey provides us with an insight into the areas ancient history as we marvel at the breath-taking views, raw natural beauty and stunning scenery, where Ireland’s highest mountains sweep down to lakeshores. Our journey includes a stop in Kenmare, an elegant beachside town and commonly considered as the Jewel in the Ring of Kerry.

Day 5: This morning we make the journey to Cobh for our visit to the Titanic experience. This unique visitor attraction is located in the historic White Star Line Building – the very place from where the Titanic’s last passengers departed. Take an emotive journey back in time with a guided tour and retrace the footsteps of passengers with immersive displays, real stories and eyewitness accounts. This afternoon we will visit Blarney Castle one of the most famous castles on the island. The tower house began its life in the 15th century and is surrounded by 60 acres of stunning grounds from its prehistoric fern garden, awe-inspiring arboretums and a 100-metre herbaceous border in a spectacle of colour. The Castle itself is home to the fabled and mystical Blarney stone which legend says will provide the gift of eloquence or ‘the gift of the gab’ to anyone who kisses it. Kissed by world statesmen, literary giants and films stars it’s a feat easier said than done as to kiss the stone you must climb to the top of the castle, lie on you back and hang over the edge of the castle wall.

Day 6: This morning we travel to Dublin for our return ferry crossing to Holyhead. On arrival in Wales we travel to Caernarfon for our overnight stay.

Day 7: After breakfast we begin our return journey home.
