Itinerary
Itinerary
Day 1: After arriving in Calais we will travel through Belgium into Holland and onto our hotel.
Day 2: Today is the highlight of our tour, our visit to Keukenhof Gardens; the most beautiful spring garden in the world! Keukenhof is a truly unforgettable experience where more than 7 million flower bulbs planted every year. Gardens and pavilions show a fantastic collection including tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, orchids and many more; the spectacle of colour and perfume is truly overwhelming. Besides the spacious 32 hectares of flowers, you will be able to enjoy the spectacular flower shows, surprising inspirational gardens, unique artwork and wonderful events; a day not to be forgotten.
Day 3: After breakfast, we travel to the charming town of Katwoude for our visit to a local cheese farm. We will be greeted by staff in local Volendam costume and enjoy a demonstration of cheese making. Following our visit we make a stop in Edam a typical Dutch town lined by canals, traditional Dutch houses, white draw bridges and, of course, famed for its cheese. This afternoon we make our way to Zaanse Schans, a living and working traditional Dutch community. This unique part of the Netherlands is full of distinctive thatched-roof windmills, handicraft shops and museums where you will see clog-crafting and cheese making. Claude Monet was so enthralled by the picturesque Zaan area that he created an astounding 25 paintings and 9 sketches of the landscape.
Day 4: Today we travel homeward making a stop en-route in Ostend before our return crossing home.
