Day 1: We make our way to Bristol and our hotel arriving in time to relax before dinner.
Day 2: This morning we enjoy a guided tour at Aerospace Bristol. Opened in 2017 the attraction offers a unique glimpse inside the aerospace industry from the point of view of the people who designed and built our nation’s aircraft over the past 100 years. We get the chance to step aboard its star attraction, the iconic Concorde Alpha Foxtrot, the last of the supersonic passenger jets to be built and the last to fly. In the afternoon, we head back to the centre of Bristol and enjoy a 60 minute Bristol Packet Boat Trip with commentary detailing the fascinating history of the area.
Day 3: After breakfast we head towards the Dockyard, where we discover the ship that changed the world; Brunel’s SS Great Britain. The world’s first great ocean liner is fully accessible and the winner of more than 30 tourism awards. We head beneath the glass sea, walk through the history of the SS Great Britain in the Dockyard Museum, visit includes a cream tea.
Day 4: We begin our day by making the short journey into the City of Bristol for some free time before heading to Berkeley Castle for lunch. Berkeley Castle is still a lived-in family home, surrounded by glorious countryside and beautiful gardens. We start with lunch in the Tea Room before embarking on a guided tour of the castle when we will learn of its interesting past before exploring the terraced gardens and lawns.
Day 5: After breakfast we will begin our journey home.
