Day 1: We travel north to Bolton, arriving at the delightful Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2: This morning we travel to Leighton Hall, a much-loved family home with a rich heritage. Enjoy a hot drink and a mince pie followed by a guided tour of the Hall dressed for Christmas. Climb the impressive ‘Flying Staircase’ and learn about the famous furniture making family that still live at Leighton Hall today as we embark on a festive journey through this award-winning historical house. This afternoon we make our way to Lancaster, a delightful medieval town which is beautiful at Christmas. Stroll through the city centre full of Georgian splendour and head to Dalton square, in the heart of the city, which is transformed into a winter wonderland for Lancaster on ice. With its ice rink, giant Ferris Wheel, twinkling lights, cosy stalls and a warm festive atmosphere this beguiling city is full of magical festive charm.
Day 3: Today is sure to be a highlight of our tour, a wonderful Christmas lunch on the East Lancashire Railway. Step on board the festively decorated, beautifully restored pullman-style carriages and steam into the season through Lancashire’s very own winter wonderland. Sit back and relax as you enjoy this exquisite dining with distinction experience. With polished panelling, luxurious furnishings, and crisp linen it’s a perfect way to dine while enjoying traditional Christmas fayre and getting into the spirit of the season. Expect a sparkling welcome drink upon boarding and a sumptuous three course, silver served meal followed by coffee and mince pies. With your own personal waiter/waitress for the afternoon you can relax knowing every aspect of your experience will be catered for to the highest standards.
