Carol Singers will entertain us along with a glass of Prosecco. After our evening meal there will be a Party Night with a DJ playing 50s, 60s, 70, 80s & Xmas disco music.
Day 2 – Christmas Eve: After breakfast we will enjoy a scenic tour around the island. We will visit Godshill, with its delightful medieval church, charming thatched roof cottages and a winding main-street. We will also visit Shanklin Old Village where you will see some of the oldest dwellings on the island. Our tour would not be complete without a visit to Alum Bay, famous for its coloured sand and the iconic landmark of The Needles. After dinner this evening we will enjoy an evening of Christmas tunes.
Day 3 - Christmas Day: This morning, after you have enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, you may wish to take a stroll by the sea or spend the morning with friends in the comfort of the hotel. A traditional Christmas lunch will be served in the restaurant and High Tea will be served at 6pm, if you have any room left of course! There will be a Christmas Quiz in the evening.
Day 4 – Boxing Day: Today, our excursion takes us to East Cowes and Queen Victoria’s summer home, Osborne House. Osborne reflects Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s passions, tastes and style. Ornate furnishings and artefacts from The Royal Collection fill rooms and corridors where Victoria entertained heads of state, inventors, princes and princesses and ruled the vast British Empire. Winter on the Isle of Wight comes late and finishes early with the longest number of sunlight hours in Britain, and a generally mild, almost Mediterranean climate. The garden features a lot of evergreen plants, as was fashionable in the Victorian era, which provide much needed structure at this time of year. This evening we will enjoy a Festive Buffet and enjoy an evening of live entertainment.
Please note: Areas of the house may be closed during the winter period for important conservation works.
