Scarborough

Scarborough

Scarborough, one of the UK’s first seaside resorts which has been attracting tourists for over 300 years.

Explore this holiday destination on the stunning Yorkshire coast and experience all that it has to offer. Discover its award-winning sandy beaches, breathtaking coastline and dramatic cliffs, as well as the town’s historic harbour and a variety of attractions, including Scarborough Castle, Scarborough Open Air Theatre and SEA LIFE Scarborough.

Scarborough’s beaches have been described as some of the best in the country. These include South Bay Beach, North Bay Beach and a more secluded one at Cayton Bay. With the mixture of soft sand and tidal hard sand, they have the perfect castle-building sand! The town is also home to some of the UK’s finest parks and gardens, including Peasholm Park, South Cliff Gardens and Royal Albert Park. Enjoy a stroll around these lush green spaces and take in their amazing natural beauty.

Whitby

Whitby
Whitby is a town that offers you something a little bit different to the ‘typical’ coastal resort! Here, you can explore ornate cobbled paths, locally owned shops and quirky cafes, giving the town a unique, welcoming atmosphere. One of the most iconic parts of this lovely town is the famous gothic abbey, said to have inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Founded in 657, Whitby Abbey is over 2,000 years old and has so many fascinating stories for you to discover!

The lovely beach and harbour are also a favourite spot amongst locals and tourists alike, with boat trips available to see the North Yorkshire coast from a new perspective. This is also one of the few places in the UK where you can see the sun both rise and set over the ocean, making the pier perfect for an evening walk! There’s lots to do in the town itself too, such as the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, Whitby Brewery and Whitby Jet Museum. If you’re a fan of walking then you’ll be spoilt for choice, with many routes in and around Whitby, exploring cliffs, woods, country lanes and beaches.

Whitby Regatta

Whitby Regatta

Soak up the atmosphere of one of the UK’s oldest maritime festivals at the famous Whitby Regatta.

Initially formed over 175 years ago to celebrate the town’s heritage of yachting and rowing, the regatta has become a four day event packed full of free entertainment for all the family.

Expect anything and everything from live music, a 4km fun run, grand parade, children’s play areas, fancy dress parades, a raft race, a vintage car rally and a greasy pole competition! All culminating with a fantastic firework spectacular!
