Portsmouth has a long association with the Navy and this is a wonderful opportunity to discover the history of this fascinating city, included is a visit to the Historic Dockyard, which has a host of attractions including the Mary Rose Museum, which is where the processes of drying the raised ship is happening. The HMS Victory, Admiral Horatio Nelson’s ship which he captained to victory in the Battle of Trafalgar, before losing his life as a hero. There are many other interesting ships to explore including HMS Warrior, the world’s first iron hulled armoured warship and the last survivor of Queen Victoria’s Black Battle Fleet. Entry to the Spinnaker Tower is also included, which at 100 metres high gives panoramic views over the city and over the Solent, with a fascinating film show which shares the history of Portsmouth. We will also be visiting the stunning New Forest renowned for its peace and tranquillity as well as its beautiful views and wild ponies.
