There is so much to discover in Hull, the old town with its delightful cobbled streets gives the opportunity to enjoy a whole selections of museums, including the Maritime Museum which provides an interesting insight into the city’s sea faring past, the Streetlife Museum is an interactive experience, rides on trams are all part of the experience, and William Wilberforce the MP who led the campaign to abolish slavery’s former home, Wilberforce House has been converted into a Museum, and even better all the museum are free to visit. With plenty of shops and galleries there is so much to do you may need to return again to experience all Hull has to offer. The historic city of York with its stunning architecture, including the York Minster, which is one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe with stunning stained glass windows and magnificent towers, set within the famous Shambles, with its pretty overhanging timber framed buildings is well worth a visit. A visit to the historic city of Lincoln is also included don’t miss Lincoln Castle where the Magna Carta is now permanently on display, the result of a £22 million investment of the castle, Lincoln Cathedral is one of Europe’s finest gothic buildings with its vaulted ceilings, and intricate stained glass windows, it was at one time the tallest building in the world, its history has been long and varied and if you search the Angel Choir you may discover the imp which was turned to stone for his mischief there.
