Travel back in time at the Grassington 1940s Celebration, a beloved annual celebration in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. This wonderful event transforms the charming village into a nostalgic tribute to wartime Britain to experience vintage music, dancing, and authentic 1940s street scenes.
A full programme features live performances, re-enactments, and a traditional parade with classic vehicles and wartime costumes. The cobbled streets come alive with themed stalls, cafés, and even appearances from historical characters like Churchill. From swing bands in the village hall to military displays there’s something for everyone.
The event offers a unique blend of history and entertainment with local pubs, restaurants and shops joining in the fun, offering themed menus and decorations to complete the experience.
We also include a visit to historic Skipton.
