Dublin

Dublin

The fair city of Dublin is a beautiful medieval city, with a long and colourful past - its museums, art galleries and wonderful architecture, all chronicling its fascinating history.

Tracing its origins back to a small Viking settlement, it has much history to offer its visitors. See the Book of Kells, written around 800AD, one of the most beautifully illustrated manuscripts in the world or visit the many castles in the area.

When you visit Dublin it’s easy to understand why it is often described as the city that never sleeps. In the day Grafton Street remains the hub of activity with plenty of high street stores and designer boutiques, whilst in the evening the party atmosphere of Temple Bar is truly irresistible. If you’re looking for some respite away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre then Phoenix Park is a great place to relax or enjoy an afternoon in Dublin Zoo. Alternatively relax by the graceful fountains and waterfall in Iveagh Gardens.

Belfast

Belfast
Linen-opolis
Belfast is the capital - and largest city in Northern Ireland, situated on the East coast of the country on the banks of the River Lagan. Its location meant that by the early 19th century it was a major port, playing an important role in the Industrial Revolution in Ireland. Belfast was briefly the biggest linen producer in the world, nicknamed Linenopolis.

Home to the most famous ship in history
Shipbuilding was another key industry in Belfast’s past – in fact, the most famous ship in history was designed, built, and launched at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in 1911. A monument to The RMS Titanic is the city’s (and the world's) must-visit attraction, housed within a striking building: Titanic Belfast.

Belfast is a beautiful place
As well as the typical city attractions: shops, food, and history – Belfast is a naturally beautiful place. The popular TV series Game of Thrones was filmed in Belfast and beyond – the area's historic buildings, rugged coastline and wild countryside perfect for the fantasy land of Westoros. Get a bird’s eye view of Belfast from Cave Hill, the city’s imposing landmark which was named for the five caves on the side of its cliffs.
