Walk the city walls, the oldest, longest and most complete in Britain, with part dating back nearly 2,000 years. Whilst giving you an insight into the history of Chester, the full circuit of the walls also allows you to take in wondrous views of the city.

You’ll be spoilt for choice with the selection of attractions to explore in the city, including the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, cruises along the beautiful River Dee and the 1,000-year-old cathedral with fine examples of medieval wood carvings.

If you enjoy a bit of retail therapy, you’ll love Chester’s Rows in the heart of the city. These unique structures are half-timbered shopping galleries across two tiers, with everything from independent shops, cosy coffee shops and popular restaurants.

Liverpool

Liverpool

A city steeped in history, culture and attractions, Liverpool is one of the most popular city break destinations in the UK.

Liverpool's most famous sons “The Beatles” are celebrated across the city; from the exhibition in the Albert Dock to the famous Cavern Club where the lads once played, you can map out their incredible journey amongst the vibrancy and history that radiates throughout this city.

Home to Tate Liverpool, open Eye Gallery, the Merseyside Maritime Museum and of course the world famous Royal Liver Building. For the first time in more than 100 years the Royal Liver Building has opened its doors to the public and launched a brand new guided tower tour – the Royal Liver Building 360.

Liverpool has attractions dotted throughout the city and boasts more galleries and museums than any other UK city outside of London. From the British Music Experience that tells the story of British music through costumes, instruments, performance and memorabilia to Liverpool Cathedral, Britain’s biggest cathedral! Explore the iconic Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool’s famous waterfront, with its independent shops, lively bars and fantastic restaurants or If you fancy a bit of retail therapy, take a wander around Liverpool ONE, an open-air shopping district next to the city’s waterfront. It houses over 150 stores with everything from high street brands to designer fashion, as well as a variety of places to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat.

Why not take a ferry across the Mersey, visit the Beatles Story, sit back and relax in one of the many bars and cafes or visit Liverpool One for the ultimate shopping experience.
