Visit the Windermere Steamboat Museum or the World of Beatrix Potter where Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck come to life. St Martins Church is one of the most interesting buildings in Bowness, and the delightful web of narrow streets known as Lowside are definitely worth a look and give an insight into how Bowness was before the railway arrived.
