Bridlington & The Yorkshire Coast
7 Days Away
The bustling town of Bridlington, with its characterful old town and host of seaside activities, complement its golden sandy beach. With a host of independent stores as well as the more well-known chain stores, enjoy a wander around the harbour with its colour fishing boats and stroll along the wide promenade where you can appreciate the views while enjoying a refreshment at the many cafes along the front. The beautiful Whitby Abbey perched above the town is well worth the 199 step climb to appreciate the wonderful view, watch the bustling harbour from above and soak up the atmosphere which inspired Bram Stoker when you visited prior to writing ‘Dracula’. The beautiful beach and delightful pier are not to be missed and try not to leave without trying the local fish and chips. The historic city of York with its stunning architecture, including the York Minster, which is one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe with stunning stained glass windows and magnificent towers, set within the famous Shambles, with its pretty overhanging timber framed buildings is well worth a visit. We will also enjoy a scenic journey visiting Malton, Helmsley & Thornton le Dale.
