Aberdeen
AberdeenHead into the Merchant Quarter and admire the opulent architecture of the Marischal College, Europe’s second largest granite building, and the Tower House which dominates the city. Follow the granite trail into Old Aberdeen and find other masterpieces that showcase the city’s origins, including St Marchar’s Cathedral and Brig O’ Balgownie. The city centre is dominated by the mile long Union Street, where you will find a wealth of designer boutiques, high street stores, trendy bars and classy restaurants. Down by the harbour you can discover more about Aberdeen’s industrial past at the glass fronted Maritime Museum, where the city’s long-established relationship with the sea is celebrated including herring-fishing, shipbuilding and lighthouses through to oil and gas production.
