Balmoral Castle - Purchased by Prince Albert in 1852 for Queen Victoria, Balmoral Castle became the Scottish home of the Royal Family. The Castle was completed in 1856 and the old building was demolished. A commemorative stone in the position of the original front door still remains. Although Balmoral Castle remains largely the same, successive Royal owners have followed Prince Albert’s initiative and made improvements to the estate.

Aberdeen is rich in history from its maritime past. It's where the harbour meets the city centre and is famous for its stunning architecture and ancient charm. It’s also known as the ‘Granite City’ and is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of Aberdeenshire, with its forests, mountains and attractive coastline. The locally quarried grey granite can be found sparkling within buildings, as the sun catches the glittering mica crystals.
